I have a MS level 3 component that has been on the shelf for 7 years. Should it be baked before usage. The HIC card reads ok- and it was stored with desiccant. History of the part is unknown, was purchased from franchised distribution.

Hi. I am looking for information on storing completed PCBAs in a warehouse environment. My current assemblies use standard FR4 material - 4 to 6 layers. Component types range from 0402s to fine pitch QFPs and micro-BGAs. If I were to store this i

A baking oven over 100 C will be at zero humidity. Do you really need to store pcbs/devices at 200 C...this will surely harm some products ? IPC 33B01 allows storage of MSDs in a dry cabinet at less then 5%.....these can operate at room temp or 40 /

After bar-coding or manual data entry the data is in the Mydata database. The data is not stored in the feeder but in the database. The database links the component data to a serialized feeder and to a PCB s/n or production batch code. The machine so

Dear Mike, As you might have noticed from the labels on the dry bags, the maximum floor life is specified by the component manufacturer and it can range from 1 year (level 2) down to a few hours after mandatory bake (level 6). This limit is based o

We seem to have an awful lot of reels in our SMT stores that are not made of static safe material. True that many of the components are not static sensitive, but when we run SMT, they are being loaded right next to sensitive components. Is there an

MrM, Yes, here in lies the dilemma who the heck has 67 freaking days to wait for dry-out! The only real way is to remove said parts from their carriers and put them into something that can handle the higher temp. I've seen people using those N2 c

Most of the component vendors I've dealt with will guarantee the solderability of the terminations for three years if the components are still packaged in a full reel. If the reel is part used we've kept them for 1 year and then used a wetting balanc

You'll not find any solvent, which removes cured epoxy and not attack the board material as well. If there are traces underneath the surface mount components even mechanical removal of the epoxy may mess up your boards. As a mechanical tool I recomme
