| I will be starting a conformal coating process soon, I am looking for any pointers on | 1) Best method for masking components, tape mask, liqued mask | 2) Which is best Spray or Dip? | 3) Compatiblity with no clean solder paste (flux residue) | I h

I'm not the Asymtek expert on this subject but you have to run a ROI study. When you buy a system you have to look at how much time you are spending on masking. If every job is a one board special, then you may be better off spraying on a coating. Ho

Yes, 0.25x0.25 square could work @0.1 thickness, use nano-coating or electroform stencil for better solder paste release.

GJ: If your supplier uses a conformal coating that "must be applied to a clean surface," then you are using the wrong supplier and no amount of twiddling with your N2 levels will change this. NC fluxes are inherently "dirty" and nothing aside of cle

Hi, we have recently had some customer returns where the 44 pin j-lead ASIC devices exhibit green corrosion from the copper under the tin plating on the leads. These boards were in the field for around 4 years, with innadequate conformal coating pro

I have a customer who is rather inexperienced, and asking us for a solution for them. They have a circuit board that's roughly two inches long by 1/2" wide or so, with component placements on one end of the board. The other end has a trace that I s

Oh yeah, so we have a auger valve similar to that on one of our other machines that we use for dispensing SMT glue, and solder paste also. We have a conditioner that we flush it with at EOD when in use, then we just let it sit idle with the condition

Hey youse guyz... We're finally getting our first real job at the start-up I'm working at. It's actually a pretty unique little board too. Simple as all get out, but unique. You're not gonna believe what this goes into...guess? (I bet ya' you'll neve

Chris: I can't a semi-auto dip tank being any faster than manually dipping. Better control - yes. Less messy - yes. Other stuff Graham mentioned - yes. Have you discussed your goals with some of the used equipment folks listed in the archives?
