Dang, you're picky. Try buying your operators mittens, and then tell them that your company has discovered that mittens generate less ESD so they're making them mandatory now. Then...after a few hours, bring them their gloves back and tell them that

John, In addtion to the cleaning process you may wnat to look at the masking materials you are using as well. Are you using any temporary masking tape? If so, do the dewetted areas coincide? Some of these tapes use a silicone-based adhesive which wi

i am going to try it to use with Electrolube HPA. BTW we ran into a similar ptoblem, we just put pink mask on it to seal it off. still takes less time than to mask them with tape

First of all, do not use kapton tape! It tends to cause a dewetting effect around the tape. A call to Humiseal will explain why. There's not really a blanket answer to your question.... Removing cured liquid mask can often result in a fillet ef

Is there a preferred/efficient method(s)(e.g. tape/masking compounds, boots etc.) for masking off specific areas and/or components on a pwb prior to conformal coating?

Hi BJ, Everyone's favourite answer...it depends! If the volume if large, masking boots will save you both, time and money in the long run. Custom boots are relatively expensive to buy, but they pay themselves over time by savings on masking tape. ma

Good morning Mark, No issues around the masking at this point. The issue seem to be in open areas as well as between clad runs. We are using Humiseal 1A33 Conformal Coat.

There are many possibilities: * Conformal coat is incompatible with surface residue on the board * Conformal coat is incompatible with solder mask on the board * Moisture is out-gassing from the board * Conformal coat is too thick and does not allow

Hi, does anyone know/have used rubber masking boots to mask connectors, headers etc. prior to conformally coating them? i would appreciate contacts for custom rubber boot manufacturers in the united states. Thanks, Amol
