Hi folks, I have a conformal coating application where I need the coating to be UV stable for a number of years without any crazing or cracking of the coating. I have looked for such a coating and have come up empty handed. Much of the circuit boar

Humiseal says, "UV cure – These materials are also more difficult to repair as they are the most chemically resistant and mechanically tough of all conformal coatings. Removal is possible locally by using powder abrasion."

Contact the coating manufacturer to get their response. We use many different coatings every day and they all glow differently but that has no affect on the coating itself. As stated earlier, it's job is only as an inspection tool to identify where

Hi We produce electronic pcboards for the aircraft industry. Some of our clients think that the thickness of the varnish left is proportional to the intensity of the blue color of uv's pigments in the varnish. Out off, we know that is not true. The

We've had similar "disputes" with our quality department. A technical engineer from Nordson told me that the flourescents in the coating can look faint depending on the angle in which you look at the surface as well as how solder joints reflect the

I think it is useful just to see where varnish should not be (eg connection parts). it is necessary to use another method to measure the thickness.
