Does anyone have a suggested software for exporting Gerber layers from ODB++ file packages? I have the Valor Free ODB viewer, and love all the information embedded in it. Unfortunately I am not able to work with any of the layers. Circuitcam imports

Gerber[R] Data (File). Used in directing a photoplotter during printed circuit board and stencil artwork fabrication. Gerber Scientific Instrument Company used to be the dominant producer of the photoplotters used for "shooting" film, back when mec

Gerber in general is not best data set for assembly, alot of processing has to be done, manually or via software tools, all with their nice features, but as you state there is no actual datum XY , pin 1 , rotation references thus has to be 'generated

Not now, Valor may under develop the module for its Trilogy 5000 with the stencil aperture based on the rules which you set. Also, check with IRI stencil (Alpha), they have a s/w and based on using ODB++ file and not Gerber. Rgds.

Certain customers do give us CAD. USUALLY ODB++ but I've also gotten .ipc and .pcb . Many of our customers bought or inherited a design, and therefore have no control to generate additional files. Or, as you mentioned, they had another manufacture
