We currently use process carriers to run our products. We do not have chillers at the end of the reflow ovens (no space) so you can imagine how hot the carriers come through. Are there any cooling racks out on the market that I can look into to pla

For several years now we have been using a short (4 feet) conveyor with brush wheels and a simple box fan mounted under it (blowing up) to cool the product.

Many moons ago, at another company, we bolted an oval "carousel" to the ceiling. In our case, the carousel was use to convey wave soldering pallets from the end of a in-line washer to the from-end of the wave soldering machine. The pallets hung fro

The second pass in the wave is pretty extreme and will probably aggravate the conditions which caused warpage in the first place. Areas to look for problems, The lay up of the boards at fabrication or the materials used can lead to warpage. Work wi

Warp depends on: * How close the board gets to its Tg during the solder cycle (the closer you get to the Tg the worse the warp gets) * Amount of copper on each side and the balance between the two * Thickness of the board * Overall length x width * T

We had similar problem, the root cause was that the cooling fans on the VME rack were not working and the vision card hangs up if the temperature is too high. Also check the power supplies, we had also a problem that the filter condensator inside the

Too fast heating/cooling rate in reflow (look at mfg's spec.). Z "overdrive" on pick and place or chipshooter though unlikely I would say. Depanelization method (bending a scored board to break it is tough on things). Bad PCB design - cap. too clo

Warpage typically (not always) kinda, sorta points to a fabrication bake induced issue that is the racking technique & may be relieved by "flat baking" under weight. Your baking at 125* won't do dip. You need to get the laminate temperature above it'

Sr. Tech, youre absolutely correct that the X-Wagon (pancake) motor is the one which will do final positioning when moving to a programmed position. The X Axis motor in back of the machine is used for rapid traverse of the axis. I was thinking more

| Hey youse guyz... | We're finally getting our first real job at the start-up I'm working at. It's actually a pretty unique little board too. Simple as all get out, but unique. You're not gonna believe what this goes into...guess? (I bet ya' you'll
