| Also the preheating of the board is done to help evaporate any water/alcohol that is in the flux - water is a big problem in No-clean processes. From our experience, a temp range around 200f - no more than 220f is ideal for the bigger boards, but t

| Hi, can you please tell me how to make green coating and through-hole plating of PCB? Thanks! | Xingsheng Xingsheng: Welcome. Bible on PCB fabrication: Printed Circuits Handbook, Clyde Coombs, McGraw-Hill Web resources: http://www.pwbrc.org/ a

Re: Pin Hole/Blow Hole - Causes and cure please

Electronics Forum | Thu Jun 24 10:48:02 EDT 1999 | Earl Moon

| Recently, there has been an upsurge in the Pin Hole/Blow Hole problem in our wave soldering process. We are baking the PCBs for 2 Hrs. at 125 degree C. The Wave Soldering profile seems to be O.K. Still the problem is persistent. Can somebody hel

Questions are: * What is this green material? * What does the green material look like? * What the impact of this material on the long-term reliability of your customers product? * What flux did you use to solder these boards? * How were the boards

Immersion Au and ENIG surface finishes

Electronics Forum | Thu May 02 07:11:10 EDT 2002 | davef

They probably the same. Most likely someone is saying immersion gold [immersion Au] as a short hand for ENIG [ Electroless Nickel - Immersion Gold]. It is very uncommon to plate gold directly on copper, because gold and copper form a brittle interm

MPM Accuflex Calibration

If the machine is printing with an offset on all products, then yes the printer needs to be calibrated with the fixture. That particular model requires the same tools as the 500 and 1500. They were different from other MPM machines of that or prior

Pcb Drill Hole as Fiducial

Electronics Forum | Mon Mar 05 09:12:58 EST 2018 | proceng1

If it's a plated hole though, you can use the ring around it, which should be as accurate as a copper fiducial. just know that any plated hole with a trace coming off of it will have a "tail" and it might throw the computer off when scanning.

ENIG or Flash pcb

I ordered few times of prototyping gold plating > pcb from China. How to i differentiate they are > ENIG or Flash gold? Hi,Friend , this is very easy to distinguish the ENIG and gold plating pcb, you can stratch the solder mask off and see the co

| We are using .040" diameter fiducials (global and local) on our boards. They are solder covered and HASL. I get batches of boards where the p&p vision system has trouble reading the fiducial. The fiducial looks dark on the screen. The board ven

Terminal plating

Zinc from the brass [Cu3Zn2] diffuses into the tin causing solderability problems. Just 0.001% of Zn in your solder can render it fit for the scrap heap. So, you need a barrier plate between the brass and the tin. Copper or nickel-plating is commonl
