aluminium wire bonding on Electroless Nickel + Immersion gold

Electronics Forum | Fri Aug 17 01:40:55 EDT 2001 | V.RAMANAND KINI

We are in the watch & clock Business. We have a Watch IC chip that has to be wirebonded using Ultrasonic aluminium wedge bonder. The wire dia is 1.25mil. The PCB is made of G10 Glass epoxy copper clad laminate. The copper thickness is 18 microns. The

Etch strain gauge in copper layer to measure deformations during press process [How to?]

Electronics Forum | Sat May 17 10:38:49 EDT 2014 | sarason

I hate to say this but in all probability this wont work. I have built real strain gages and they depend on the change(Co-effiecent) of resistence with strain(or Stretch). since you are connecting you elements up with copper wire it will frm part of

Etch strain gauge in copper layer to measure deformations during press process [How to?]

Electronics Forum | Fri May 16 05:17:13 EDT 2014 | julianf

Interesting. How did you connect the gauges in the press? Our press only has connections for thermocouples. But in essence, it's only a wire and an electical output. If you placed these prefabricated gauges on top and on the bottom surface, weren't

Copper Dissolution

Electronics Forum | Mon Nov 14 17:09:07 EST 2005 | davef

From Alpha Metals: "The test for copper dissolution was conducted by dipping a pre-fluxed copper wire specimen into the test alloys for a specified time period. The change in diameter of the copper wire is measured and a rate of erosion is determined

Conformal coating rework jumpers

IPC-7721, Section 6.1, Jumper Wires, Jumper Wire Selection #5 states: "Recommended wire is solid, insulated, plated copper wire, 22 to 32 AWG with a heat resistant insulation. Wire with tin-lead plating may be restricted due to environmental laws."

Can I replace this broken micro switch and solder the new one like this ?

Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 06 16:46:39 EDT 2020 | emeto

If I was you, I would use solid copper wire and modify the new switch to have contacts same location and size as the old one. Then solder the same spot a s a full replacement.

transformer winding machine

Electronics Forum | Tue Sep 26 07:46:49 EDT 2023 | robertanderson

A transformer winding machine is a specialized piece of equipment used in the manufacturing of transformers. Transformers are electrical devices that transfer electrical energy between two or more circuits through electromagnetic induction. They cons

Re: Soldering stranded wires to FR4 pcb

Electronics Forum | Fri Oct 16 14:36:11 EDT 1998 | Jeff Sanchez

| With current soldering of stranded wires to pcb assy's the wire tends to be very brittle and can break with very little movement of the wire. We use a low residue cored wire. Anybody with advice or who has seen a similar problem/knows how to overco

Unconventional way of making a PCB

Electronics Forum | Sat Dec 21 13:03:52 EST 2002 | V.RAMANAND KINI

Hi to all, All of us are familiar with the conventional way of making PCB...I mean...photo tools/expose/develop/etch/plate etc., These involve lots of chemicals and the work place is toxic. I have a small PCB with just two curves (circuit tracks)and

Cu dissolution PTH

Electronics Forum | Tue Jul 05 17:16:01 EDT 2005 | davef

We agree with Pat, but it's far from straight forward. [er maybe we should say we don't understand it.] We duplicated the results of a posting on the web. Flux, then dunk copper wire into tinning pots set at 250*C for measured periods of time. The
