| i am working on a no-clean process implementation project in a company. i want to change a board to no-clean which had dendrite problems underneath the small resistors on the bottom side(in smt).i want more information on the exact cause of dendrit

Type K thermocouple for Super M.O.L.E

Most people do not intend to solder Type K thermocouples. They use solder to attach the thermocouple. Search the fine SMTnet Archives for a posting by Chrys Shea. 1 Common thermocouple types commonly used for thermal profiling are: * Type K

Putting a center board support on lead free wave

I would try a PTFE (Teflon) wire or Teflon protected wire or you could try anodized aluminum. Its getting more and more interesting how the lead free era develops. Just a thought I wander how long its going to take the tin (not passivated with lead)

Re: Gold contamination in solder joints?

Well, I'm going to assume you: * Have a nichel barrier between the copper on your board and the gold / solder solution * Use a lead / tin near euthectic solder If so, I pick "C" - It doesn't matter. When concerned about copper tin intermetallics, t

I use a .059" copper clad sheet of FR4 that I bought from one of our board houses. It has not started to delaminate yet, and it has been through our ovens several hundred times. I am not sure what the life expectancy of a thermo-couple is. I am not 1

Unconventional way of making a PCB

Hi DaveF already gave you some fine answers. Yes I have seen CNC routed copper PWBs, and the literature is filled with many unique trace types including laying of fine wires on a board or embedded. You wanting .15mm, and I am guessing, low resistan

As an addendum to Daves posting, please consider that: There is no such thing as no residue fluxing. A no-clean must herefore, have benign residues - in other words, they are not as efficient at removing surface oxides to enable good solder joints. S

I do not mean big, heavy transformers but rather small ferrite core transformers, with ferrites in the range of EF16 .. EF40. The weight of the lead and its percentage of the total weight is not the issue here. We simply do not want lead-containing t
