counterfeit parts, blown up FETs, part marking removal

Electronics Forum | Wed Jan 09 10:46:17 EST 2019 | rvines1

I've recently seen some TO-220 FETs that appear to be counterfeit parts that have had the marked area resurfaced and remarked with a false part number. I don't know much about semiconductor manufacturing, and I just want to know if there is a type o

Beware of counterfeit Fuji feeders and parts out of China

Electronics Forum | Mon Dec 13 10:38:38 EST 2004 | fastek

This I have heard from (2) different sources. Fuji feeders for CP series machines are now being counterfeited in China and are being sold as original. They will in all appearences look completely legit in original boxes and with Fuji bar-codes. Once

Beware of counterfeit Fuji feeders and parts out of China

Electronics Forum | Mon Dec 13 12:02:20 EST 2004 | Rob

I've seen 2 types from China, one type was an amazing copy (Fuji supplier's factory back door possibly?) and the other was a cheap copy. The cheap copy was adequately functional, but I wouldn't want to bet on it's long term life.

Interesting Rob. The fake ones that I was told about would fail within minutes as the index wheels would be reduced to metal shavings right away.

Electronics Forum | Fri May 21 15:36:05 EDT 2010 | ccross

That is exactly the type of problem we are having. Some work, some dont. We feel these parts are not counterfeit so to speak but reworked, removed from other boards, cleaned up to some degree - hence the flux residue, black contamination, scrapes, wr

Need: Counterfeit testing labs (in HK?)

Electronics Forum | Sun Apr 17 23:20:12 EDT 2011 | leadthree

Hola, seems we bought some fishy parts from a vendor in Germany. One is for sure fake, the others we don't know yet. Does someone here knows some reliable counterfeit testing labs? Best would be one in Hong Kong
