Electronics Forum | Sun Feb 09 18:20:24 EST 2020 | richardcargill

Does this only happen with certain feeders or certain components? We have a few regularly used components that experience the same problem ( Philips SMT machinery ) where the cover tape is just too sticky. Experience taught us which components will c

PSA - Pressure Sensitive Adhesive? I don't know which type of tape the affected reels of parts use but it is not sticky. Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. There were no missing teeth on the plastic take-up reels. I have cleaned an

It it PSA tape or heat seal? Every machine I have ever used has trouble with PSA cover tape. I wish they would ban in in ROHS. 3M tells me it is the future and it will replace heat seal tape.

The cover tape on 0805, 1206 and IC reels occasionally does not pull back clear of the tape and our Fuji IP-1 stops. Although some feeders appear to be more vulnerable to this than others, is this a feeder problem or is this a material problem with

Splicing for us has been a rough go as we haven't really found a tool that works well/fast. We have a few different machines = different feeders. They all react different to a splicing "style". The best so far is a crimp tool that crimps a brass s

Does anyone else have issues of certain cover tape that gets stuck in and around the feeders? I have been fighting these 2 tapes all day. I try to tape them to the pocket tape with a twist, but it only works so long. It happens Either because its s
