| Notice the lack of response to the laser system comment? Unspoken words can say a quite a bit...they don't want to have to address the issue. I wonder why? | Ray Ray and others: I work for Quad. Our optical centering assembly called QuadAlign doe

| | | | Has anyone heard of this company? We have one at our facility and I can't find them listed anywhere. I looked through this years NEPCON directory with no listing there either. We have some parts that need replacing so any help would be gre

Rob is right, you do need to dispense paste or pre-forms when using a laser. Although the Panasonic Soft Beam has a wire despenser. I've seen laser soldering and it does work on smaller stuff. Doesn't work well on connectors even after preheating.

QUAD IVc Laser Alignment throubles

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 11 08:33:25 EST 2015 | daniel_esposito

Hi, I have two Quad IVc and both of them have the same problem. Laser Alignment is not working! When I run funtion 30, it always gives 1 at nozzle height. If I place any object beside the nozzle, it will give a number different from one depend on how

Quad IVc Laser Align Extents

Electronics Forum | Tue May 03 17:59:19 EDT 2011 | jimlas53

As I continue to add more components/feeders to our assembler, I add a new laser align extent for every pick. But if components are standardized (like 0805, SOT-23) is it necessary to have all individual extents or just an extent for each type? Thi

Fiducial alignment on Juki

Electronics Forum | Fri Dec 19 12:43:01 EST 2014 | emeto

I had some of these before and they do a decent job. Laser alignment is ok for passive components. Compared to vision systems it has mainly disadvantages. If you have bended lead on IC for example, it wouldn;t catch it and it will place the part. I w

Juki Laser Alignment

Electronics Forum | Tue May 14 08:08:04 EDT 2013 | emeto

Hi, BGAs should be placed by camera recognition if you have one(that helps to eliminate defects as missing balls...). If you don't, check the parameter for the laser level(height). In your case I think you should use the body as a measure level. If

Juki Laser Alignment

Electronics Forum | Tue May 14 16:23:12 EDT 2013 | emeto

Hi again, yes you have to pick the laser level sometimes. The machine will put some default level based on the component dimensions, which sometimes will be wrong for your part. Unfortunately it has been awhile since I worked with Juki so I can't te

QUAD IVc Laser Alignment throubles

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 11 09:29:59 EST 2015 | bobpan

A reading of 1 almost always means that there is something on the lens or possibly dust inside the unit blocking the laser and tricking the machine into thinking the nozzle is already down when it starts to step from the home 'up' position. Usually i

Cpk Variables Control for Paste Printing

Electronics Forum | Thu Apr 18 17:17:20 EDT 2002 | Eric Wolf

I have found a consistency in certain package types which hold a very close tolerance. We use a six mil laser with electropolish. BGA's are tight. Some IC's drift. I think the range and Cp is more important than the Cpk for today. The reason bei
