Hi, for capacity analisys I reduce a 15% of total capacity. This 15 % if for model changes,maintenance and material supply.So far no problem, I think 15 % is enough.

How is cycle time of SMT line (Chip shooter for ex) determined?

If its newer equipment.....and newer software.....usually the software for the smt machine will tell you the estimated time once the board has been programmed. If its older equipment.....get the old stop watch out.

168 hour cycle time typical. The customer does not care if the door is opened to load more cards etc. The cards are 6x8 typical.

Absolutely, you should be held accountable for untrained operators, slow operators, bathroom breaks and any other human intervention! Are weekends affecting cycle time as well? You have a "tough" customer you're dealing with. Good luc

Hi Bill, Gasketing between the board and stencil may leak alittle, giving you a fuzzy print. If not, you should be OK. Another variable may be you need to perform an understencil wipe more often, adding to your cycle time. So why ya wanna double

Everthing is the same. I did not check water temp or wash cycle time. No DI just straight from water supply. How do I do the DI ? Jerry

If you get into a discussion with a Lean guy/gal, takt will be the rate of customer demand. People often use takt & cycle time synonymously...FWIW

thanks for the inputs. we are planning to run on fuji nxt i think cycle time will not be an issue. i still have another question if we can still use the same reflow profile for paste? or do we need to create another profile?
