I am a student doing a project on rework os BGAS and CSPS and Im looking for information on it especially rework of csps Has anyone got x-ray images of csps after rework or of BGAS to show csps with solder balls Appreciate any help Urgent!!!!

So you are suggesting to begin heating using a preheater only . . . then when the thermocouple under my PBGA reads around 130C, turn on a top side heater? Thanks

Thanks. I will turn off the machine activated cooling and have the part cool down at room temp (no compressed air cooling). Can you recommend a good paste / tacky flux?

yeah Jeff, i would make sure that you are not overheating part trying to get the balls to temp. Indium will sell you a couple of these cartridges for sure. Good Luck Russ

Cost of solder joint rework

Does anyone know the current cost to repair a defective solder joint? I seem to recall a number quoted a few years ago of $1.03 per joint with burden of overhead. I've also seen numbers from 50 cents to 50 dollars per joint.
