Vacuum Bags

For a day or a week probably. Possibly a month. But I"m sure not for a year or such. There would be too many variables to know exactly how long it would be before the desicant became saturated. And it wouldn't meet the Jedec standard.

Why delamination happens on PCBs?

Electronics Forum | Mon Jun 20 02:43:55 EDT 2011 | milroy

What is the correct FR4 for RoHS? This PCB is a 4layer board. When we get the boards from the supplier they are properly packed in vaccum sealed bags without HIC card but there is desicant in side.

DEK 265 GSX air conditioner refrigerant pressure

Electronics Forum | Sat Mar 30 13:33:50 EDT 2019 | stephendo

This is not an HVAC unit. This is a small unit attached to a production machine to keep the solder paste from drying out prematurely or slumping. The volume of air being cooled and desicated would be less than 3 or 4 cubic meters.

OSP PCB Shelf life and part packs

Electronics Forum | Wed Sep 26 10:05:41 EDT 2012 | testbloke

Although we do not have any soldering issues with our OSP PCB's, I am trying to establish clear rules with regards pcb storage and shelf life. Our PCB's are supplied in metalised moisture barrier bags but without desicant, our current rules as follow

MS Level 6

Electronics Forum | Wed Jun 20 18:21:33 EDT 2001 | davep

What experience does anyone have with a MS level 6 SMT component? I have a part that must go from component baking to reflow within six hours. According to the component mfg, a sealed MS bag w/ desicant is not sufficient protection to increase the

BGA & QFP post reflow inspection

If followed, would the following strategy meet the requirements of IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033A; All MSD components are either exposed for less than 1/2 an hour or final reflowed within 12 hours of opening. What I mean by exposed is any time the parts are n

There are two similar products, Eureka and McDry dry box units and other nitrogen required units in the market. Both Eureka and McDry are not required Nitrogen, I'm seeing a cost saving there in the long run. I have several Eureka dry box in the faci

You can buy desicant packs and indicator cards to place back in the original or a new bag with the BGA's and re-seal using a heat sealer (Vac Seal being the best). If properly done the material will be kept below the 20% RH level. Another option woul

Surface Tension vs Part Mass

Electronics Forum | Tue Sep 12 16:53:58 EDT 2006 | stepheniii

Make sure you desicate the boards if they have MSDs on them. I'm guessing you have a part on the board you want removed, but can't do it normally. At one time I thought it might be slick to make a spring loaded Kapton tape "tent". The idea being th

BGA & QFP post reflow inspection

Electronics Forum | Wed May 04 19:09:52 EDT 2005 | russ

Can you not just check the part when it is on line and being loaded into the machine? You should only need to check this once. Verify your setup to the bom and not your assembled boards to the BOM. Correct setup and program = correct boards. More
