power dissipation design

Electronics Forum | Wed Apr 05 08:33:36 EDT 2000 | Robert Hartmann

Can someone lead me to some articles or technical standards showing formulas/design criteria for thermal management in a BT BGA? I need to be able to dissipate about 4 Watts, and am having trouble finding information on how to calculate what our BGA

Robert: Out of curiosity, by "BT" do you mean: Bismaleimide triazine, the stuff used to increase the tg of resins used in some BGA interposers. British Telecommunications plc, the guys with bad teeth. BrookTree, the RAMDAC supplier, thats par

Affect of Solder Mask on Heat Dissipation

Electronics Forum | Fri Feb 02 12:37:11 EST 2007 | kennyg

For pads such as a d-pack... what is the effect on heat dissipation of leaving the unsoldered portion of the pad exposed metal or covering with solder mask? Is there a percentage of heat dissipation that is inhibited by covering with mask?

Cant help you with the article that you read. Other places to start are: * 2221, 7.2 Heat Dissipation Considerations, 7.3 Heat Transfer Techniques, and 8.1.10 Heat Dissipation * 2222, 9.1.2 Thermal Relief In Conductor Planes

ESD Material

If your building was built to any type of code it is grounded. Floor waxes by all I know are dissipative not conductive. The charge "dissipates away" from the floor Russ

On charge dissipating from clothing or not: It doesn't dissipate from some clothing. That's why people in assembly shops were cotton lab coats or ground-able material shirts.

Which ESD totes to buy...conductive or dissipative?

Electronics Forum | Thu Sep 08 12:50:39 EDT 2011 | deanm

We use both the black conductive and blue static dissipative ESD totes in the production of Class 3 military electronic assemblies. In some cases we use ESD bags, but most board assemblies are placed directly in an ESD tote with a lid. The totes cont

10 Methods for PCB Heat Dissipation

Electronics Forum | Mon Oct 26 02:00:36 EDT 2020 | chucherry5076

https://www.jrpanel.com/R The heat generated by electronic equipment causes the internal temperature to rise rapidly. If the heat is not dissipated in time, the equipment will continue to heat up and the components will overheat and fail, resulting

| To aid in heat dissipation of our PCB, we would like to try having copper fill areas on the board that are hot air levelled and not covered with solder resist. Then, when the board is reflowed, solder paste would be applied and then solder. Has any
