Great information. Your all right in my book "Dave F". Thanks for your help. Will redesign D.O.E. with more refined profiles for the different materials and let you know how it goes. Take care N. Lykus

Unfortunately, the facility overseas does not have a profiler. We suspect it is overheating due to a thick pallet and a raised temperature to compensate for it.

DeanM, How do you verify you have great results with the AutoSet feature if you do not check your profiles ? How does the AutoSet take into account large ground planes on certain areas of the board ? just curious

Gary Getting the specs for a used machine will be tough from Ersa but at least send them a note, the seller should also be able to get the info for you. In regards a 5 zone system. I would suggest at least 7+ zones if your moving to lead free.

This could be a long shot but here goes. I have found that if flux is applied in excess that it will actually "move the solderballs" during reflow. I have actually seen where the balls are completely outside the package and oviously there are short
