N2 PPM vs %RH? With a firm grasp of the obvious, reflow oven manufacturers rig N2 ovens differently than non-N2 ovens. The N2 displaces O2. Usually N2 oven monitor something or other to give an indication of N2 ppm. %RH really isn't part of the eq

Hi Indy, Loctite has a product called 7360 for cleaning uncured epoxies. We had a similar problem and then found out that the alcohol actually caused the epoxy to start setting making it impossible to clean. We now spray with 7360, wipe off with dry

We do the same as dontfeedphils, with the difference being that it goes through a drying program too after stencil wash program (3 mins @ 90 degrees air spray) to dry out the via holes and any trapped liquid from under the components.

Hi, Maybe Yes Maybe No Actually, it most likely is acceptable to clean assembled boards in an ultrasonic cleaning system (40 kHz). There are some concerns in some circles about possible damage to wire bonds in components. There have been publi

Its kind of nice to be able to put a dirty stencil in the cleaner and get a dry clean one out. That pretty much points to the spray units with a dry cycle. Things to consider, chemistry consumption, how your stencils are bound, maintenance, and of c

Low standoff components, flux removal

Is there any field proven spray cleaning technique able to remove flux residues under OSRAM LEDs? Is it possible in principle? The problem is that OSRAM LEDs are low standoff ones and I absolutely have no idea how cleaning agent could get there. Mo

Wave Solder, Flux density measurement?

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 01 08:27:29 EST 2006 | Chunks

I haven't seen a hydrometer used in years. Are you still foam fluxing? There used to be automatic units available, but with the advent of the spray fluxer, they may have dried up. If you are still foam fluxing with alcohol thinner, place ping pong
