Just a guess-- Could you be seeing the nickel under the gold plating because you are removing some of the Gold with the Kapton Tape ? This should be easy to verify. Otherwise it sounds like things are pretty much covered.

Consider to use micro via 10 mil or less, it may help to prevent any solder/flux reflow to the other side and affect your next printing operation. Also, solder void need to be under consideration. Dason.

Does anyone know of a reason, other than visual, contact, or testability, for cleaning a no-clean residue off a board? Are there any SIR or long term reliability advantages to cleaning a no-clean residue?
