I would only suggest this machine IF I were a Fuji salesman. The NXT will ALWAYS derate by over 40% for boards longer than 10"

mmh, good point, our current board is not that big, however, I'm wondering what is a common derate number on big boards?

I'm intrested in Sony SMT equipment. Can anyone help me? I was in China and saw a company with over 300 Sony mounters. I didn't know they even made SMT equipment.

the direction in which the solders cool in a BGA are also different than the rest of the boards as the joints " hidden" to ambient. Refer to an analogus phenomenon in the cookson application note. http://www.cooksonsemi.com/pdfs/How%20&%20Why%20Bum

Any aperture/stencil thickness suggestion to provide a rigid solder joint for 0.8mm pitch PBGA with 0.4mm ball diameter. The pad is based on IPC7095 and it is 0.3mm. Thank!

Follow your component supplier recommendations. For instance: Xilinx says their lead-free alloy for their BGA spheres is SnAgCu, and liquidous is 217*C and they want you to peak at 230 - 235*C for good wetting according to their reflow guidelines.

Flux is not classified as lead or lead free. You are cleaning flux not removing solder.

You'll still have to dispose of filters and whatnot and recycle your water polishing system tanks as hazardous materials.

Thanks for this reply - we're up against all the things you mention...
