Since you changed the motor and the encoder, we can rule them out. Did you check the ribbon cables for wear? Is it failing on the same 3 components? Is it failing around the same area on the board? Does it fail when you cycle a tool, multiple times?

We changed the encoder because the ribbon cable is soldered to the board. Both encoders seem to be working correctly beep tested the cable. We have tried different size components 0603,0805,1206 and different boards. It will place about 3 to 5 com

The 2 big ribbon cables, on top of the X wagon. They run from the booster board, in the back, to the board on top of the X-wagon. They wear out and need to be replaced, periodically. Since, the tool cycle works, the Z-motion is probably working ok. I

We are looking for new entry-level selective soldering machine. I would appreciate if you can share experience with the equipment you have, as there are many machines on the market and it's a though choice. We will use it for lead-free soldering and

We have an Ersa and an Ace machine. The Ersa is made for bigger volumes of boards. Programming is longer/harder and not as user friendly. If your running 100 boards or less.....the Ace is the way to go. If you need flexibility the Ace is better.

A test that I would like to see is, expose parts for 24 hours 40%-60% RH, 25C for 24 hours. Then seal with a HIC and minimum desiccant that Jstd 33 requires. Five to seven days later open and see if HIC says good but parts have excess moisture. I t
