I have experience in this. My company offers Lead free SMT and Wave soldering. I have processed ImSn, ImAg, Enig, OSP in both smt and wave. Yes, silver leaching will occur. Yes, copper leaching will occur. High tin content solders disolve everyt

Thanks folks, Yes, we do not have enough info yet to make decisions at this point. Just trying to get a feel what folks would do in this case. Enig,Black-Pad-Nickle skips....Always concerned about ENIG. Silver finish? Is this better? DaveF, Thank

While they're '50 pitch', you need to think of 0402 as fine pitch parts. So, ENIG, imm silver, and imm tin finishes and probably OSP would be good choices. Stay away from HASL.

I was referring to the HASL supplied by the supplier...specifically Lead Free HASL. I've been searching the web and I cannot find a thickness specification like we have for ENIG and Immersion Silver.

Hi Fluxgate, Doubt it's the laminate unless you have embedded components. Nickel is ferromagnetic (can be magnetised),so I would expect some level of magnetism in ENIG, but not silver. Are you 100% sure it was immersion silver and not something
