What was the outcome OrHorti after baking some? In the end we went with a different machine (Fuji NXT) which was able to get the leds out of the reel. After switching we still face a loss of about 0.5% but it is acceptable for now.

I was just at a trade show Tuesday. I was impressed by smartsplice. Quick and easy, he also sells empty feeder you can cut off for a starter for partial reels. https://smartsplice.com/?v=7516fd43adaa

Cheers Greg, It's unusual to have such direct access to manufacturers & their opinions. I'll tell you what really does get us, and splicing doesn't work well on these occaisions - big SMD connectors, requiring deep pocket feeders. You only get m

We have seen this problem, again using the methods recommended by Siemens. We tried different methods of splicing the tapes, but again the material was clogging in the feeders and especially in the cogs which grip and feed the tape. The only method

I think this can be of help when dialing with setting up feeders for product prototyping, where often we have to dial with a short quantity of components (often pieces of carrier tape w/o tape and cover leader) just enough to run (if lucky) those few

I have tried cover tape extenders from a multitude of sources and they all seem to be made of the same plastic. I think your best solution might be to splice on carrier tape extenders instead, these can come with conventional cover tape already fitte

We are using these Cover tape extenders https://smtsupplies.com/products/cover-tape-extenders-8-12mm-yellow-500-per-box The problem we have is that we have on 8mm feeders is that these leaders are harder plastic, and we have to put fishing weights o

Years ago I received a sample of adhesive dots that were on tape and reel and could be pick n placed with standard equipment and withstood reflow. I have a current need for these and cannot remember a vendor or manufacturer. Does anyone know of this
