ERSA Ecoselect 2 Clamp Rails

Hi, Can somebody confirm the correct operation of the rear clamp rails on an Ersa Ecoselect 2.... Do they only activate when the PCB comes into the machine then release, or stay activated thru out the flusing, heating, soldering etc

You can have it either way. In each program you can select to have the side pressure active for the entire program. The factory setting is to have it release immediately after it pushes the pcb against the fixed rail.

Just to add to Chad's response, there is box that you need to check in the program editor, ours is under the colum soldering unit one, click on the icon at the bottom, you should now be able to see a box " fix horizontal permanently". Check this box

Check out ERSA's Ecoselect 350. You can have 2 solder pots in the machine. 1 for SN/PB and 1 for Lead Free. It's a little more than $ than the others, but its a production machine! Not a toy.

Using ERSA Ecoselect. I am curiuos to hear from other selective solder users as to what is the ideal lead lenght for your application on thru hole components. Shorter leads have helped us decrease solder bridges. We find ours to be from .75 mm to 1

We have an ERSA Versaflow Ecoselect selective wave soldering machine. It works well except it needs nitrogen. You can't even move the table around if your nitrogen tank is empty. The spec sheet says Required degree of purity: Nitrogen liquid 5.0
