Max temp on a lead free part

Electronics Forum | Mon Oct 18 12:02:06 EDT 2004 | Rob

Hi Guy's, Sorry about this, but yes it's another lead free related question. We are looking at using a Chinese SMD DC-DC Converter in a new design, whilst keeping one eye on the approaching Lead-free issue. The manufacturer claims that these are O

Juki gang picking same part number

Electronics Forum | Tue Mar 27 02:37:35 EDT 2018 | rob

Hi Thomas, Yes, we are pretty good at feeder maintenance, we gang pick on our Yamaha/Assembleon kit with no issues. On one of our older machines (YV112-3/Sapphire) we pick 12 LEDs at once per side of the machine. On a couple of jobs we exceed the ma

Industry Standard Acceptable SMT Component loss?

much prefer using percentage instead of fixed overage. Example.... A run needs 100,000 parts, (1% shrink is 1000 parts!) you want to only issue 60 over? I recommend 2% for popcorn and exact for retrievable/ identifiable parts like sticks and trays

Can local fiducials improve BGA placement?

Electronics Forum | Wed Jun 06 16:51:06 EDT 2001 | jax

Unless your placing micro-bga, board edge fiducials on alternating corners will provide more than enough placement correction ( Micro-bga's should also be fine depending on how your equipment maps the board ). The part data and vision recognition nee

MSL Project

Electronics Forum | Wed Dec 14 17:25:58 EST 2011 | blnorman

Not really sure I understand. Are you trying to install MSL controls in the plant? If so, do you mean from the standpoint of say a MSL 5 part that has been exposed to the mfg floor for 24 hours then returned to the cabinet: how do you collect the i

Can anyone recommend a reflow profile for already flowed solder?

Electronics Forum | Wed Apr 21 17:27:27 EDT 2004 | russ

We always use the regular production reflow profile when we use this method. Since you don't want to do that, All that is required is to ramp the part up to temp to get the balls to melt. If you don't exceed 2C per sec. in a ramp you will be fine.

through hole questions

Electronics Forum | Fri Nov 21 10:28:23 EST 2014 | gregp

Hi Adam, So with two to three people on the slide line, each only able to place five different components maximum, this means you generally don't exceed 10-15 through hole parts per assembly, correct? I am guessing these are mixed technology boards

reflow temp/ic damage

Electronics Forum | Mon Jan 28 07:40:40 EST 2002 | cnotebaert

Yes and Yes, Your solder supplier should recomend a profile (standard profile) in most cases you can follow it. Of course you should be running a thermal profile of each board type to verify it is within the specified temp rang. You should also chec

Fuji IP-1 won't vision read PQFP64 package - any ideas?

Electronics Forum | Thu Feb 15 15:23:12 EST 2007 | bvdb

The IP-1 vision error is" "Processing Error" er 401F 4003 which the FIP-I Operating Manual says the cause is "The actual number of leads on the part exceeds the number of leads in the Part Data". I have checked and re-checked the part data, lead
