Depending on what X-Y centroid / CAD data you need, there are different SW I've used to do the job. If you need PCB gerber "artwork" (rounds, rectangles, lines, squares,...geometric figures), you can use GraphicCode GC-Place & such - load the gerber

As mentioned the ProntoGERBER-CONNECTION software from Unisoft ( http://www.unisoft-cim.com/gerber_connection.htm) does the Gerber to intelligent shapes (ref des, x/y center, rotation, p/n, etc.) function for over 25 years. If you wish I'm availab

x-y data generation

Has anyone heard of any software that can be used to clean up or manipulate x-y placement data. We are a small contract manufacturer with various customers, some who supply good x-y data to component centres and some who supply x-y data to a pin or

Doug, It always seems easier to fix one or two problems by eye at the time. The real problem comes when the customer wants the same board run again later. You're okay if you saved the corrected placement routine, but if you end up moving the job t

Gerber in general is not best data set for assembly, alot of processing has to be done, manually or via software tools, all with their nice features, but as you state there is no actual datum XY , pin 1 , rotation references thus has to be 'generated

Hello, We offer a product called - PROCAM for this very application. PROCAM uses Gerber (274X) as input and extracts the centroid data for each component automatically. It exports the centroid to standard excel format (including board outline, circu

SPC software use with vision check data

Thanks for the questions/interest Mike. I only work with the data provided by customers myself and do not know a lot about how it is generated, other than a vision inspection machine looks at a completed card and provides the x,y and theta variation

Hi Mike, I have had a number of contract manufacturers, and SMT equipment makers looking at using our SPC software to monitor process control on SMT machine production with the data coming off the vision check machines. (There seems to be a huge sur
