What is the acceptable Halide content of

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 25 21:14:25 EST 2002 | davef

This sounds like information bantied-about by the fine folk at CSL [Contamination Studies Laboratories in Kokomo, IN]. If so, this includes the sum of the halides from the following sources: * Fabricated board * Components * Processing of the assemb

Entek is Enthone's OSP [organic solderability protection]. It is widely used in the PCB fabrication business. Imidazole (Via Systems) is good, but is not as widely available. Search the fine SMTnet Archive on: * OSP * Entek CU-56, Entek Plus CU-10

solder ball shear test question

I recall a couple of papers in the SMTA 'Knowledgebase' that used ball shearing and an element in a study that compared BGA [maybe uBGA] component fabrication methods, er sumpin.

Either you need a stronger flux or the solderable surfaces need to be reconditioned. Most board fabricators don't do reconditioning. Search the fine SMTnet Archives for discussion on ROSA. EMPF is one place that does ROSA on a contract basis.

What is the different between ODB++ compared to gerber files. Can PCB manufacturer use ODB++ to fabricate PCB. Why it is always hv to use gerber file, when ODB++ is more accurate file ? Pls help. Thank you.

Selective soldering pallets and solder balls

This might be a trival mundane suggestion but try to use non conductive plate to hold components. Probably even made of the pallet material. I am sure your pallet fabricator will have tons of scrap and he can help you find one. T

Yep, Across the board! It seems as though the resources available at our suppliers anyway have been diminished from the economy. But our orders and lead times are now getting shorter and shorter with more complex PCBs being demanded. another day,
