I have been trying to get the fid recognition to work on the Universal 4785 chipshooter but keep coming up with errors. If anyone has any experience using fids on this machine and can give me some pointers please drop me a line... thank you greg

What kind of errors are you getting. make sure that you have the right size fid's and the color is correct in the program. This is the main problem that I run into and it usually corrects the problem. Make sure that it is looking in the right X and Y

Steve, I believe Contact Systems is the only company that uses local fids in this way. All othe machine have coordinates for the local fids. When measuring the fids it applies any error from the fid measurement to the 1 component it's linked to.

We have yet had the need to use local fids on our boards you must be putting down pretty fine pitch parts that are needing the acurcey if it is failing fids that are within the search area then maybe its somthing else size our lighting it should fin

Sounds like your using global fids, if there are marks on each board use local fids and that should help.
