Right. Fiducial comes with the CAD data or the gerber files. If it doesnt, and you need to create fiducial coordinates, you may use a digitizer or a caliper and make use of the reference pin as the origin. Now if the fiducial camera focus is way out,

Hello, I don't have any experience with Juki. Visited one of their booth recently and I was told they use a laser for alignment. How does this work? Is there any advantage over the traditional vision alignment? Thanks!

Since the Laser alignment bit is attached to the head and you don't have to move the part to a camera location, before placing the component on the board it is about the fastest method there is of getting accurate component alignment. With more moder

I had some of these before and they do a decent job. Laser alignment is ok for passive components. Compared to vision systems it has mainly disadvantages. If you have bended lead on IC for example, it wouldn;t catch it and it will place the part. I w

This depends on how the software of your particular machine was written (designed) to handle local fids. Most machines do not have a requirement about the position of the local fids. The purpose of local fids are the same as global fids. All the p

We have DEK265 and a problem with few projects. Normally it works great, but sometimes we have an issue with Alignment out of range error. Currently we have a project where after fiducials configuration in step mode printer shows an error : Align

If you believe your picture is in the middle and is not skewed, than go to your basics and recheck your fiducial locations and detection. Sometimes these machines recognize something around and give you this error. Try program with isolated pads and

+1 to what Sr. Tech said. I'd also add that you could have some uneven deterioration of the centering jaws. Check by doing a couple of things (this will help check if the tool/tip is bent/deteriorated as well): 1. Turn off mechanical centering, and

Hi everyone, I'm about 90% to running production on my gsm but I'm not able to get the machine to look at fiducial marks and make corrections to the placement. When I run advanced board configuration and seek to the first fiducial the pec camera tra

I rarely use blk fiducials. But when I do, they are always programmed after the fids. It's the fids that sets your general alignment of the panel. I only use blk fidus for thin pcbs (30 mil) that tend to warp when on the conveyor.
