Hello All, I was given an assembled flex circuit PCB and asked how the board was depanelized as there are no view-able witness marks that I can see. Any ideas? Thanks in advance on any insight to depanelizing without leaving witness marks on the F

Don't rule out the possibility that the board shop depanelized it and it was assembled after depanelization. Been there, dealt with it, expletives deleted.

Mike: We have provided many carriers for flex circuit applications to facilitate processing through screen print, pick-and-place and reflow and, in many cases, eliminating the need for taping the flex circuit to the carrier. Please contact me and w

| I am looking for information on reflow temps for a flex board. There is only one 6 pin IC but the board has a 3M double sided tape. | Is it possible to reflow without damaging the tape. Any suggestions? Do you have a profiler for your reflow oven?

Like many others out there I am new to SMT assembly on flex circuits. In the past, we purchased flex assemblies manufactured from a sub-con. Now we will be building internally. Are there any guidelines when building products with flex circuits? Wa

Mike, I'd be more then happy to talk with you offline about pallets for flex assemblies. We have lots of experience with the manufacturing issues associated with them. Thanks, Chad Haima Pentagon EMS 503-924-2747 chadh@pentagon-ems.com

Contact Sipad Systems and see if your board is a match for their process. They use a flux that stays tacky for weeks. We have used them in the past for exactly this reason and everything worked out well.

We recently came to a cross roads... We have historically baked out ALL of our circuit cards, with a 2 fold purpose 1) to dry the part marking ink, and 2) to eliminate any moisture, which could result in measling further in the process of assembly.

Generic fabs should not require baking. Some special cases like teflon and flex circuits take moisture very well, they often continue to require a trip to the oven. Best wishes, Boca
