Hi Lads, Thanks for all of the replies. To answer a few of your questions..... My wave is a Hollis PT500N. It has 3 zones of pre-heater rod elements. Each individual element (601195-01) is 500 watts. There are 16 elements per zone so 8 Kw per zone.

Hi George, I would suggest you to re-look your process parameters, especially for the pre-heat temperatures and the amount of flux deposited. The mask properties and that of your flux also play a role, but you could zero down to the root cause after

I'm not familiar with any "test socket cleaners", but I will tell you that water soluble flux is designed for a soldering application so it requires heat to activate. Not sure how effective it would be at removing oxides at room temperature. Second

The board and pallet are at room temperature when they pass thru the flux, then are sent thru a pre-heat section, and lastly sent over the wave solder. The exposed portions of the board solder properly.
