It's a nasty little part, but usuallu solders well. Now your inspectors will thing it's not soldered and try and touch it up, but generally, the exposed leads are not tinned, and will not toe fillet. If they know this up front they won't over heat

Hello Guru's, I am using IPC-7351 LP Calulator to design Footprint (0603, 0805, 1206, SOT-23, etc) for all SMT Parts. Our Production Recently commented that they have included Red Glue Machine inhouse and will use Wave Soldering for Both Thru-hol

SOT Solder Problem

Hi, Is the footprint per the component manufacturers recommendations? The reason I ask is because it kinda looks like the pads are extending beneath the component. Could cause the part to float up on top of the solder and not allow the leads to wet

The boards were just a little larger than a SOT8. IIRC we had a pizza slicer type depanelizer and it wasn't too bad. We just did enough to populate the bare PCBs we had. Where I am now a customer has us put a QFP and a few other parts on a SOW28 f

| My company is looking for higher density for card layout. One suggestion has been locating active components packaged in SOT's and SOIC's on the B-side of the card. This in turn will require wave soldering of the above mentioned components. When I

Hi Dave! Yeah, they've been around a while, and they're pretty straight foward like you said. About the only things that I can think of that I've run across that causes problems with these guys is when they're used on the bottomside of the board
