The HSC, "Lightning Head", is offered on two platforms, Genesis and Advantis. The decision will depend on your throughput needs and price requirements. In comparison to the HSP, I would recomend the HSC. With the ability to use docking feeder carts,

The Lightning Head on an Advantis Platform is a good choice. You should expect to see "Real Life" speeds around 20K, better accuracy than any Turret Style Machine, and the software is the same as any GSM,Genesis,Advantis machine using a Windows platf

If you are already purchasing an Advantis your best bet for ease of programming would be sticking with another Universal product. Genesis, Advantis are all good choices.

You are making me jealous! Will be on the lookout for lightening head next. Do you recommend genesis or advantis? My SMT operator prefers the genesis, but my pocket is scared of the linear motors going out. FYI I have 2 of those OS2 GSMs.

Hi All, I have a series of snap-in radial TH capacitors that I would like to place using a pick and place. Has anyone had any success using a universal platform machine? My thought is a custom vib feeder would present the parts just fine. Any feed

We've done some of this - paste in hole. O.K. success but really we prefer to do stuff on selective wave for best results. For your application, look at a high force head to place the snap in component. Additionally, you might find it more efficie

thanks for the info SWAG. My thought was to use a GSM/advantis like a radial inserter or odd form place machine, after double side SMT. We run selective solder as well. The parts I'm looking to place are snap-in electrolytics and radial inductors.
