Good one chunks!! Great way of proving a point With lead-free, engineers walk on thin ice and sales people are in heaven. If a flux can't handle an increase of 30C it wasn't a good flux to begin with.

Good post WML! you helped a lot!, Chunks brings up good point. Are there vias that can be shorted by this component being slightly misaligned? When reworking there could be residual solder or even flux that has shorted the pads or component, etc.

Good article. Would EDX analysis of the cross-section at the void joints be a good method to determine any plating contamination or solder mask issues?

Hi, That would be interesting. We are running SN100C and it's as good lead wave solder from our experience, and some people have competed on it here on the forum, but no one has reported they are using SACX yet, so it would be good to know anyones e
