I have a mixed technology PCB that has SMT all on bottom, TH parts on both sides (Yes, I realize that's bad. Can't be avoided.) We have designed a 10-up panel, 2 x 5 array. There are 50 leads per bd, 500 per panel. How much time is reasonable to a

I have run into a problem when trying to produce a SMT PCB at college. Namely they don't have any equipment for such a 'modern' process. The part I need to use is JST 21FLZ-SM1-TB. Is there any prototyping equipment I could acquire which would allow

If you considering selling the machine, it will have a much lower value, if you can't demonstrate that the machine is still operational. If you don't have any jobs for the extra machine, I would study the machine performance. Write test programs and

Hi Guys, What most of you do with the above cert. of conformance that comes on a certain batch of PCB's from the PCB manufacturers ? It also comes with a micro section of a PCB showing the internal of a PTH Via Barrels. I kept receiving them from ev

The rule-of-thumb is to follow the flux mfg.'s recommended profile to achieve their specified top side PCB temperature before making contact with the wave. Typical top side PCB temps are 100-120deg.C. Your wave contact time should be around 2 seconds

There are several implications: - some lead free alloys do not form an acceptable solder joint when used with lead contaning paste. (ie. Bismuth) - if you use both lead free and lead containing components, you will have different solder joint compos

I don't have a plasma cleaner either. It will help a lot. Actually I don't clean at all. Our wirebond pads are far enough away so the flux residue does not get on the wirebond pads. That's what we think anyway. I am sure we have some degree of c

Hi, I experience some trouble with my solder joint recently. And I'm wondering if someone could help me with this. First I use a thermocouple wich I must tape to the board to profile my temperature. I want to buy the Temprobe from Saunder Tech

I won't be easy. You have to consider most of the major manufactures are consider outsoucesing to China & Malaysia. They have cheap labor & lower tax. If you insist to invest you money to start up a contract manufacturing business. You will save a lo

The Industry has just come out with some standard that includes a "test board" that will be used to compare one machine to another (we have been refering to it as an IPC board). The board has components spaced from a smaller to larger pattern and at
