Automatic pin header breaker?

Electronics Forum | Wed Jul 04 16:40:56 EDT 2012 | comatose

We use a lot of single row breakaway pin headers. Right now we order then as sticks of 36 and I just have a tech break them into whatever lengths we need (3 pin, 5 pin, 8 pin, whatever.) I'm trying to streamline our auxillary processes. I know you ca

I have never use it, but I know autosplice has machines that can break them automatically, I don know how they work but I know that some people in my area use these machines for the same process as you. Hope it helps.

You'll have to have a special nozzle made in order to pick the header from the feeder. The nozzle should pick the part throught the pins on the plastic body. I had once a nozzle made for the same application and placed the parts without any further a

We have a problem with soldering of a 96 pin header connector(9001-11961c00l1a from kingmate) we use 3 different wave soldering but in all of the machines we have many short circuit between the pins . the wave soldering machines that we use is fr

You're joking rite? I mean the pitch between these two connectors is night and day. Of course you will get shorts on the 96 pin connector because your leads are right on top of each other. Now, what to do about it: You took a picture of the top o

Where are the shorts occurring on the 96 pin connector? Are they consistently in the same areas? It looks as though there are a number of pins connected by traces on the board, and/or the ground plane. This would cause a lot of repeatable shorts i

Through hole pins not soldering

I have modules that come with a 4 x 2 pin header. The problem is the pins must be oxidized as they do not take solder (no wetting occurring). This occurs whether solder in our wave soldering machine or soldered by hand. I tried cleaning the module i
