Make sure you find out that short to longer ovens are both Lead-Free capable. If you want respond here on what they say for future reference for people.

As long as you have a continuous profile with required soak and dwell periods, the zone lengths do not matter. For lead free, usually ramp to peak is preffered.that is with minimum soak (you can not avoid soak anyway. You can achieve the profiles irr

hi all What do you think about soldering pb-free in reflow oven (air) lenght 1,7m (5 zones top, bottom) with max zone temp. 300C? Do you think that this process will be stable? Our max PCb dimension 260x260 mm. When i compare different oven producer t

Its not the max temperature that is the issue, its how much energy the oven is capable of transferring to the PCB inside the 4-6 minute window of a typical profile. In a conveyor oven this is achieved by having zones of different temperatures, but th

The 1500 is rated for up to 300c. So it shouldn't have a problem with lead free right? http://www.petlock.com/data/Heller_1500_specs.htm

We have been using a Heller 1707EXL (7 zones + 1 cooldown zone) for lead free (ROHS) soldering since 2007 with good results. I wouldn't go any lower than 7 heat zones though. If I may brag a bit....The IPC-7095 revision C standard was released a fe

If this takes off, can we expect to see posts like this: "My reflowed boards are fine, but my Pop-Tarts and bagels are coming out slightly burnt. I think my spike is too hot but my boss is blaming the lead-free cream cheese! Can someone help?"

An 8 zone oven will give you better thermal control over the whole process. It's useful for lead-free soldering, or for boards with varying thermal loads/shadowing, etc. You can make a 5 zone work for lead free, provided the boards don't have signi

I use a lead free 3 zone essemtec oven which I love. It's on the smaller side (wish it was even smaller). It works fine in our application. Maximum width is 300mm and only uses 5-6kwh average (25A max). Made in Switzerland. For some reason I don
