FR-4 will be OK for small products such as cellular phones. Here the temperature gradient across the board may be 3-4C only, and the board temperature can be well controlled. At temperature above around 245C, the discoloration and delamination may be

PCB finishes for high temperature applications

Electronics Forum | Tue May 12 10:02:52 EDT 2009 | dwl

I am trying to develop a process for building high environmental temperature PCBs (150-225C) specifically for down hole applications. I'm specifying an evaluation board and was thinking about using polyimide PCBs with Sn05Pb92.5Ag2.5 solder. What so

I think for most, so long as you have an operator running the line I don't think there is a need as you can generally set the lines in a way or manage the material flow in such ways that production or productivity doesn't take a hit if a person has t

First, responding to your question Several things on copper dissolution in solder are: * A 50um copper wire will dissolve in 60Sn / 40Pb solder at: - 200C solder in 55 seconds; - 250C solder in 20 seconds; - 300C solder in 5 seconds; - 350C so

Epoxy damaging SMT Components

Have you checked to make sure the mix ratio is correct? My experience with epoxies is that if the mix ratio is off with too much hardener you will get a much higher exotherm than expected. Modulus is high too, pretty stiff material.
