If any changes in design is not possible and you have to solder it, it's a real headache, I know... I see only 3 options here that you can try consiquently: 1) Accurately profile the board and optimize a profile (go to lower limit of process windo

Hi Dave, Sorry that I did not explain clear enough. What I mean normally after reflow, the solder joint is very smooth and there is wetting. But now we see there is hole on the solder surface and is not on the same loaction. This product have been r

We find that the raw BGA's pad sheared surface has the SnPb solder at various Z heights whereas the assembled BGAs pad leave a smooth layer of SnPb along the pad. Like to understand the cause for the difference. Who could guess? Solder joint streng

>>>>Dave, The BGA substrate surface finish is NiAu, while the PCBA pad surface is HASL. The solder ball composition is SnPb 63/37 and the solder paste used on the PCBA is also the same but with 2% Silver.>>> Dave, sorry I don't have the picture with

Very fishy missing solder paste issue

If it were other machines I would suggest the possibility of air kiss blowing the solder away, but mydata's have a release to make sure the air kiss never gets too high. Unless it is not pointing 90 degrees away from the machine like mydata recommend

Here's what I do: - Test Surface Insulation Resistance (we're in the high reliability market and use a test significantly harder than IPC's). I also test SIR in combination with other assembly materials like conformal coatings and wave solder flux

I assume you are running Lead paste and that is why your parts are moving during reflow. Most probably these caps have leads that are bended in random directions(look at some parts from the bottom and observe how symmetrical the leads are). In additi
