I am currently running at 2.12 minutes TAL using Indium 8.9HF. I am up to 68/cm min in a 8 zone oven. Indium recommends 30-100 sec or .30 to 1.40 minutes, I am think of increasing the conveyor speed until I fall with the 1.40 minutes, does anyone hav

We were using AIM WS485 SAC305 and AIM NC257 SAC305 and we had problems with voiding and AIMs narrow process windows. Now we are using Indium3.2 and Indium8.9 with much better results.

I have done the same thing. We are changing over to the Indium 8.9E solder paste. It prints great and the joints look great. Does not look like a lead free alloy. We have turned off the nitrogen.

It's all relative to your Zone Temps and the thermal profile of your assembly. Without knowing what they are, we'd be irresponsible to offer any advice on adjusting your conveyor speed.

I am wondering if the fumes from reflow oven should be filtered in any way or can be just releaed to the atmosphere? Could not find any info about it. We're using Indium 8.9 HF SAC305 paste.

Depending on the assemblies you're producing, I highly recommend 8.9HF from Indium for a low residue SAC305 alloy. We have been using this for years in our NC process and residues are very little, with appropriate stencil apertures and paste printing

Lead Free Solder Paste Evaluation

Just to add a comment, we were using AIM Lead Free (SAC 305/ NC254 & 257) in the past and we had Voiding problems, then we tried Indium 8.9 HF, and we have better results, so now we are evaluating change to Indium for many of our products.

Nitrogen for reflow

I agree with the comments below. I see no difference with lead free. Across five reflow ovens our external nitrogen tank was about 14' tall and 7' round. I am with a different company now due to the great ole american "lets send product out of the co

I was using Indium 8.9 HF and AIM 257-2 was far superior in reducing voids. Just wait till you have a problem, if you have less than 10 lines running 24/7 don't expect a call back from Indium's Tech Support. It's been a couple weeks since we swithed
