Conformal Coat (Urethane) & bubbles

Electronics Forum | Tue Jan 24 10:24:18 EST 2006 | kmorris

We've got a problem here, where we're hand spraying a urethane conformal coat on over a rectangular inductor. The inductor body is a plastic tube, with potting to fill. The top is not always flat (sometimes concave). The problem is that bubbles appea

Hi The bubble shows only around component body after ir reflow. I think bubble means that there is a moisture. How do you dry the PCB(?) before IR reflow? Thanks Ju-young.

Bubbles on solder joint(after conformal coating curing)

Hi All, Recently we are working on the conformal coating process using Humiseal chemical 1B73 and thinner 521. Bubbles on component body/joints are seen after gone through the IR Reflow Oven. During the conformal coating, only tiny bubbles seen af

hi, i am proccess eng solder wave process.I have problem with a PCB.There have ceramic SMD capacitor, SMD thermistor and SMD inductor 1uH.After reflow all is OK, but after SW these components are broken???The pin is separated from the body???the que

One thing to consider regarding the capacitor, The leads are not 100% straight beneath the plastic bottom part. And if you align with regards to the two leads, the leads will be aligned to the pads of your board, but the body of the capacitor is look

Anyone Place TH components with a Universal Platform machine? GSM, Advantis, Genesis?

thanks for the info SWAG. My thought was to use a GSM/advantis like a radial inserter or odd form place machine, after double side SMT. We run selective solder as well. The parts I'm looking to place are snap-in electrolytics and radial inductors.

| We have experienced poor adhesion of acrylic conformal coating to plastic bodied ICs. The observed symptoms of this are a blistering or lifting of the coating at the surface of the component, although peel testing has revealed that this is not al

| I will be starting a conformal coating process soon, I am looking for any pointers on | 1) Best method for masking components, tape mask, liqued mask | 2) Which is best Spray or Dip? | 3) Compatiblity with no clean solder paste (flux residue) | I h
