I have a BTU International VIP98 reflow oven, running WINCON Version 2.00C on Windows 98. The light tower only lights green when the oven reaches temperature, and the other colours never light up. Do you know how to set the other colour lights to tu

It's a longshot but.....I have seen low-standoff parts move caused by via's under the part erupting from within internal layers (outgassing). If this is a multilayer PCB and vias are not well plated or pourus, they can and will expand when heated.

Ultrasonic washing for boards

Electronics Forum | Wed Apr 27 23:23:18 EDT 2005 | pdeuel

It was a resonant frequency that brought down the Narrows bridge. Memorex can shatter a wine glass with resonance. Ultrasonic washers use frequency to do what they do. If anything on the pcb has a length width or mass that resonates at the washers fr

HOW TO REDUCE MACHINE SET-UP TIME???

James, I have worked at a couple of different companies and both have reduced their changeover times significantly. What type of placement machines do you have? Do you use customer part numbers or do you have your own internal part number for co

Most of the major chip mounter makers claim that they do have a capability of handling 01005. Like Samsung, Yamaha, Assembleon, Panasonic, etc. But I've never found any screen printer company yet. What is the specification required for selecting scre

Internal Oven Calibration

We do the same as SR Tech but add in a check of the thermocouples the oven uses to monitor it's own temp. Annually I attach a thermocouple from a calibrated thermometer to the thermocouple in the oven. I compare the readings. We specify a plus min

That's why I parallel ported the T/C's. Now I can use a calibrated hand help thermocouple and plug into the T/Cs on the oven. If they're within about 3 degrees of each other, then they're considered within our specification. Paper work on the hand

Hi Grant, Most inspectors want your oven temps close to what you normally run your product. I've had to show both glue and past profiles on every oven before. Then they want to see if you are matching the profile specified by the manufacturer. I
