Many companies use IPC-CC-830B as a replacement for the deactivated MIL-I-46058 conformal coating standard.

Doesn't get into the overspray allowance on bodies of connectors. I have submitted a request to get IPC-CC-830 and I hope that has more information.

Conformal Coating Coverage on Side of IC

Does anyone have a reference to a spec for this? We have a tall SMT IC that we coat with AR coating in a Asymtek spray coating machine. We do not have the angle head option to spray from a 45 so the sides of tall parts are sometimes left uncovered.

Frank R, I believe the Dymax #984-LVUF is a POLYURETHANE RESIN. I have used Humiseal 1A27 and 1A33 for several years with great success. Both of these materials are High VOC materials. If your customer does not require these materials to be aproved
