We recently discovered that the flux thinner we were buying was mostly isopropyl alcohol. What would the consequences be of just using isopropyl for thinner?

Does isopropyl alcohol have a shelf life? I have looked at many manufactures and have not found any publication of a TDS specifying shelf life, rather only a MSDS which does not include this info.

Store the flux stone in PVC pipe (capped at the end) and fill the pipe with Isopropyl Alcohol.

I have been using Isopropyl Alcohol for years using a Right angle spray bottle in a tub without any problems. As alcohol has a low flash point, what other chemicals are there that are inexpessive and do not product a waste stream? Note: Isopropyl Alc

Here are the scenarios: *No-Clean Flux & Foam Fluxer: alcohol is used as a thinner (for titration purposes) if your flux is alcohol-based *No-Clean Flux & Spray Fluxer: alchol is used only as a cleaning agent for your sprayhead.
