Some machines use air blowing to not only place the part but to also help guarantee that when the nozzle is sucking it doesn't end up with a net accumulation of solder paste inside the nozzle. Juki and Yamaha spring to mind. sarason

I have been involved with our Selective Soldering process for 15 years or more. Using ACE Protech machines and now a Juki. Our first ACE machine replaced 4 hand solder operators easily, allowing them to work on other projects. The machine isn't "set
