Hey guys - our lab has some data and photographs available for the MS2 for use in wave solder from some of the studies we have performed for P Kay. There are other versions being studied, but that is the only version available to market currently.

A couple years ago there was a buzz here on SMTnet about P. Kay Metal MS2. The Super Deox sounds smilar.

You're right- is is a cool concept and product. It is my understanding that, at least a few years ago, it was not compatible with every type/manufacturer solder pump. Check with PK for update info on compatibility.

With the costs of bar solder going through the roof manufacturers need to try to offset the dross related losses any way possible. Companies employ reclamation processes but in practice this only yields roughly 1/3 of the original cost of the solder
