Electronics Forum | Wed Nov 29 23:17:37 EST 2006 | raychamp007

Dear Friend, SMD E-cap wasn't a Flat ribbon, L or gull wing. Pls. look at SOIC & QFP for Flat ribbon, L or gull wing. So far IPC had confirmed dont have any criteria set specific for SMD E-cap.

Mirtec MV-7L lifted lead detection

Electronics Forum | Thu Apr 28 17:02:07 EDT 2011 | grasso1976

Has anyone had success utilizing the lifted lead/ height checker feature on a Mirtec MV-7L. We recently had two separate events where the machine did not detect a lifted lead using the ic/bridge inspector. The soldering results came back with out def

Heel bend wetting for Gull Wing lead

Electronics Forum | Wed Apr 11 20:49:39 EDT 2007 | raychamp007

3W. Figure 8-84 shown evidence of heel bend wetting(but no written criteria mention about the solder fillet must present at the heel bend). It is acceptable if the minimum D(3W/75%L)extend from toe which is no evidence of solder fillet at heel bend?

Right angle PTH lead profile = blowholes

We've got an auto fuse clip (a pair of tin/nickle spade type receptacles joined with a nylon bridge piece) giving us fits. The pins on this thing have a right angle profile (symmetrical "L" shape) and make great flux traps. No amount of tweaking pre

Any different between Flat Ribbon and Gull Wing Component?

On the contrary, IPC-610 refers to flat ribbon leads in the same context as gullwing and "L" leads. I've always assumed that they were one in the same (could be wrong here...certainly wouldn't be anything new) and have never seen L or flat ribbon r

Hi Jose, J-lead are very sesitive to coplanarity, which is the major cause for the defect you described. Other posibility is that there is not enough solder paste ; J-lead need around 10% more solder past then L-lead, You have to consider the screen

Lead vapor

Electronics Forum | Thu Mar 04 20:26:11 EST 2004 | davef

Alloying lead does not affect its vapor temperature. As you and others mentioned, the vapor temperature is well out of the range of your processing temperatures. Some people concern themselves about potential health hazards of lead by thinking abou

Titanium solder bath Vs. Stainlesss steel 316L

Electronics Forum | Mon May 09 09:02:17 EDT 2005 | davef

Your 316L stainless steel pot will not contain lead-free solder, over the long term. We'd bet that our solder machine equipment manufacturer will "swap" you a lead-free solder compatable pot for your current pot.
