There is a stencil cutting machine in the industry which utilizes a water jet to deliver a Laser beam for cutting stencils. There are no machines of this type in the states. The quality is no better than a Laser cut stencil using a good Laser System.

Rob is right, you do need to dispense paste or pre-forms when using a laser. Although the Panasonic Soft Beam has a wire despenser. I've seen laser soldering and it does work on smaller stuff. Doesn't work well on connectors even after preheating.

Hi Karkanov, Depending on how many devices they have, you may want to go spot solder with a laser system or light beam system. This worked well on some aluminum boards we did in the past.
