laser soldering

Well, there seems to be many opinions, many of which could be correct, however... With the proper laser they can be quite good for soldering. Here are a few guidelines I would like to suggest. 1) Have your product soldered first (by the vendor) 2) T

Fiducial recognition using laser

Electronics Forum | Fri Apr 02 16:45:29 EST 2004 | cedams

Ken, You'd think so but the tooling pins only register to the drilling process for the PCB. The fiducial registers to the copper pattern and for both glueing and placing SMT components the pads are more important than the holes. That's why the machi

Solder paste thickness measurement with laser machine

Electronics Forum | Thu Feb 23 09:59:09 EST 2006 | SIR

We have an AUREL CS1222 machine to measure the thickness of the solder paste deposited on a bare board by a stencil printer. This device has a laser beam that has to be put on the pad where you want to measure the solder paste thickness. The measure

Zevatech 740 RH Head - issues with rotation of component during laser recognition

Electronics Forum | Tue Mar 20 22:53:16 EDT 2018 | maustin

OK, with my masterful powers of deduction, I have been able to resolve the problem. Upon further investigation, it became apparent that the issue was restricted to those components that had the laser alignment level in the component data set to -0.2

Water Jet Stencil Cut

Electronics Forum | Sun Oct 09 01:11:34 EDT 2005 | vev

There is a stencil cutting machine in the industry which utilizes a water jet to deliver a Laser beam for cutting stencils. There are no machines of this type in the states. The quality is no better than a Laser cut stencil using a good Laser System.

QUAD 4C mk2 Z axis

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 04 08:04:39 EST 2013 | marcelorotofrance

Function 30 reads CENTER 1024 RUN OUT 0.0 with any nozzle and without nozzle at all. However I see that nozzle tip stops in front of laser beam. When I interrupt the beam with a piece of paper during Function 30, Z axis travels down until I take it

Re: FIDUCIALS

Nate, If your stencil vendor has laser-cutting capabilities, they should be able to burn in your fiducial locations. This process involves re-setting the focus of the laser beam to burn the locations 1-3 mils into the surface (as opposed to 1/2 cut

soldering robot

Electronics Forum | Wed Mar 28 12:46:50 EDT 2007 | realchunks

Rob is right, you do need to dispense paste or pre-forms when using a laser. Although the Panasonic Soft Beam has a wire despenser. I've seen laser soldering and it does work on smaller stuff. Doesn't work well on connectors even after preheating.

Aluminium board

Electronics Forum | Tue Jul 31 15:03:02 EDT 2007 | realchunks

Hi Karkanov, Depending on how many devices they have, you may want to go spot solder with a laser system or light beam system. This worked well on some aluminum boards we did in the past.

Iscan 3D Measurement

Electronics Forum | Wed Oct 09 08:36:44 EDT 2002 | pjc

Operation features of many devices, machine components, instruments depend substantially on state of their surfaces. Selective surface processing by high-intensity energy beam (ion, electron, laser treatment) is one of the most perspective directions
