I want to know the advantage of using complete inert soldering wave machine (with Nitrogen, Tunnel concept) in comparison to use just a soldering machine withe inerted solder pot. Thanks

Hello davide, the biggest advantage you'll find with a complete N2 tunnel is the minimization of oxidation during board preheating. Using only an inerted solder pot allows the oxidation to build up throughout the preheat stages and introduces contami

Hello Kris, No, it's not necessary to have a nitrogen tunnel setup. A nitrogen tunnel allows a process to go the extra step in providing higher quality through less defects. I can't really speculate on it's use in contract manufacturers mainly becaus

Is anyone wave soldering 0603 leadfree succesfully? We have no problems soldering them leaded, but lead free we see a lot of random skips and some shorts. We use SAC. We have tried different fluxes, flux settings, playing around with preheat, sol

Have anyone perform wave soldering on FR-2 and FR-1 printed circuit board with lead free soldering? Can you share the parameters(wave temperature, preheat temperature, contact time, wave height, etc,) used and did you do any changes to the wave solderi

So, no one is wave soldering 0603 succesfully? Not even teh wavemaster??

Great as most Lead Free machines have the wrong angle on them 7 degrees is correct. So you are still exiting the wave in the middle of the pot then.

Every problem faced with (all) lead free alloys can be solved with 2 words add lead I'll keep it short don't want to sound like a broken record.

looks like my knowldge preceeds me again. I woud try a different flux. If it doesn't work - it will take a question mark away and your one step closer to total success.

you need to check your angle on this, can you measure and advise what you have cheers Greg York
