Paint flaking from Lead Free solder pot

Electronics Forum | Fri Sep 08 11:38:42 EDT 2006 | GS

Last april,I have seen same behavior on a pot using SACX. Phenomena happened just few days after start up of a brand new solder wave. I know they have got the pot replaced but I do not know what about the new pot if had same problem. I know they mad

Reflow solder issues with 6pin SOT's

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 09 13:15:27 EDT 2005 | davef

Initial points for investigation are: * What temperatures are you measuring on the leads that do not reflow well? [How does this match with the paste supplier's recommendation?] * Does the component take solder after being dunked in the solder pot? *

Low Flux Residue Solder Paste

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 20 06:39:02 EDT 2006 | Julien VITTU (STMicro)

I'm using a lead free solder paste, low residue from SENJu among all the pastes I've tried it is the best I've found. you can ask for any type of alloy, but request the 729C flux type. kind regards

Resistance value level of lead-free solder joint

Electronics Forum | Mon May 26 08:02:11 EDT 2003 | davef

Resistance: Tables of wire gauge often provide a resistance measure of some kind for each gauge. That way we can estimate the resistance of any length of wire we might be interested in. Calculating trace resistance is only slightly more complicated.

Using an AOI for TH solder checks

Our model of machine does not do "blob analysis" so I'm not sure what you mean by that. "Pattern matching" will only pass if I set the pass percentage down to about 45% and I don't feel comfortable with that. When using a solder inspection everything

Paint flaking from Lead Free solder pot

Electronics Forum | Fri Sep 08 09:10:32 EDT 2006 | Claude_Couture

Hello all, The situation: We recently had 2 brand new solder wave installed, one after the other. On the first one, the "protective coating" on the solder pot started to flake off 1 day after start-up. The tech who did the installation witnessed it a

Running with sn100c in my solder pot!

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 27 08:38:03 EDT 2006 | cuculi54986@yahoo.com

I tried some SN100C from AIM... On only one array. It flowed well on the chips but did not like the finish on the SOT23's on the board. I did not have enough arrays to mess around, so we switched it over to SAC305 and had no issues. I'm guessing w

0402 chip capacitor with solder spatter

Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 16 10:44:29 EDT 2007 | Jacky

Hi All, Recently, we encountered strange defect at our SMT line. We can see solder ball spatter around at one of the component pad. This lead to insufficient solder defect at 1 side of the component. The other side of the component look good(Meet

Re: Reg: Voids in solder bumps

Electronics Forum | Wed Oct 07 15:25:02 EDT 1998 | Joe P.

Hi Everybody | | Is anyone aware of the possible causes that may lead to voids in the solder bumps after assembly. We assembled some dice on thin substrates and after assembly, void formation in the solder bumps were observed. | We have alread

Running with sn100c in my solder pot!

Grant, Haven't doen any work with the SN100C paste, the problem I guess is yoru subject to the suppliers flux base so if that is poor then the alloy may not perform as well as it could. We've found Avantec to be pretty good at SMT but have got SN100C
